-Collect student’s story film graphic organizers and check for three accurate descriptions of each detail that they chose to include from some part introduced in the text
-Check understanding when observing students’ class venn diagram and discussion
-Collect student word documents to look for the correct guessed word that was covered up in the text and listen to their discussion
-Collect students’ worksheet with cutouts pasted in the correct order of an insect’s life cycle sequence to see if they grasped the concepts correctly
-View students in groups performing the life cycle dance to see if they remember the dance in the correct order
-Check students’ card order to see if they put the life cycle in the correct order
-Look at the students’ cards to see if they understand which part of the life cycle the movie is about at various parts throughout the movie
-Create a whole class ven diagram comparing two insects. Can also use a paper bag and have one side of the bag represent one insects and the other represent the other insect. Have students write two characteristics that the insects have in common and drop those written slips of paper in the bag
-Guess the covered word. Cover up a word with a sticky note and have students guess what the word is based on words and illustrations around it. Ask students questions and have them ask you questions. This revolves around conversation.

Students will create a life cycle play with three other group members. They will work together to include several different life cycle changes that either a butterfly or earthworm goes through. They will use correct vocabulary and make sure to include the correct order of life cycle steps. They will earn the maximum amount of points if they show creativity and use various props and other materials.
